Supports Ricci and Warren

March 28, 2008

I will vote for Ron Ricci and Peter Warren to be selectmen at this year’s town election. Both of these men have demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment to the well-being of our town. Peter, through his long, continuous service on our volunteer Fire Department, including many years as its chief, shows the kind of talent and dedication that we need at the top of our town government. In addition, Peter recognized the need and had the foresight to establish our volunteer ambulance department and served as its first volunteer director. Ron Ricci has served us well as a water commissioner, in addition to service on the Town Center Septic Task Force. But most importantly, Ron recognized the need for his talents and leadership in the protection of a most valuable asset in the center of town: Bare Hill Pond. As a member of the Bare Hill Pond Watershed Management Committee, Ron voluntarily designed, fabricated, installed, and continues to operate and maintain the controls necessary for the operation of the pond drawdown pump house. His leadership, talent, and dedication to this project will ensure that the drawdowns of the pond over the years to come will aid in a major way the weed-control efforts to prevent pond eutrophication.

We are at a time in our town’s history when decisions have to be made. The time for more committees and more studies has long passed. Ron and Peter have demonstrated, and will continue to exercise, their abilities to make the decisions necessary for our town’s success in the future. They have earned my respect and my vote. I urge other residents to vote for them as well.
