The League of Women Voters launched a lobbying effort in support of its position on energy and transportation.
In her opening remarks at a November forum on the subjects held at the Congregational Church, the Harvard league president said that the league supported any legislation “designed to provide a system of public transportation serving all people of the state.” She also urged the more than 50 people gathered to press their legislators on developing state and national policies on energy conservation.
And in 1976…
A group of citizens proposed a housing development on an old goat farm that would be designed to meet the needs of the elderly, young people priced out of the single-family-home market, and more affluent professionals not interested in maintaining single-family houses. The plan would allow for 50 to 60 units for each category, at a density of two units per acre.
