It has been six months since our family experienced a disastrous fire. Our residence at Oak Ridge Observatory, which we called home for 17 years, caught fire and burned. The sense of loss was overwhelming until friends, neighbors, and even Harvard residents we didn’t know came forward and showered us with their compassion and understanding. What seemed to be an insurmountable time in our lives was alleviated by the kindness and thoughtfulness of so many.
We cannot thank the Harvard Fire Department enough for their fast response, dedication, and heroism. Thank you so much to Rob Warren, who not only immediately took charge, but also saved our family cat.
We have always appreciated the beauty of Harvard, but never knew how truly special living in a small town was until recently. During a difficult time the community gave us strength and support for which we will forever be grateful. To all these people and to the Harvard Fire Department we give our heartfelt thanks, and we look forward to the opportunity to pay forward this generosity.
