At 8:20 a.m. the ambulance team took a woman from Stow Road to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. A Harvard resident came into the station at 6:12 p.m. to ask for advice about a domestic matter at home. An Ayer Road homeowner called police at 6:50 p.m. to report a bike rider “without the appropriate number of reflectors.” Police made contact with the bicyclist and told him of the caller’s concerns. A Tahanto Trail resident called dispatch to report hearing a loud crash at 10:26 p.m., but police found nothing after an investigation.
Wednesday, December 12
An Ann Lee Road woman was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center by ambulance at 5:20 a.m. At 2:48 p.m. a Littleton County Road woman called dispatch to report the fraudulent use of her credit card by someone in Maryland. The matter is under investigation by both Maryland police and the credit card company and is not in Harvard’s jurisdiction, Officer Castro noted. A Harvard resident at a doctor’s office on Ayer Road was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center by ambulance at 5:47 p.m. An Ayer resident driving on Still River Road struck and killed a deer just before 6:18 p.m., when he called Harvard police to report the accident. After following standard police procedure, he took the carcass back to Ayer for his own use.
Thursday, December 13
At 9:27 a.m. a woman living at the Foxglove Apartments reported that someone had stolen the antenna off her car. The matter is still under investigation, Castro said. A caller reported a car parked off to the side on Poor Farm Road at 3:49 p.m., but the vehicle was gone when police arrived to investigate. A DPW worker driving a town plow struck a utility pole on Old Littleton Road shortly before 8:49 p.m., when it was reported to police
Friday, December 14
A woman from Lancaster County Road called police to report receiving hang-up calls with “a lot of dead air” on her cell phone at 11:49 p.m.
Saturday, December 15
A bag containing ski clothes was turned in to the station at 10:25 a.m. It is still at the station, where it may be reclaimed by the owner. Police contacted the state DPW to tell them about a malfunctioning light on Route 2 at 11 a.m. An alarm at the fire station on Still River Road went off at 3:05 p.m., indicating that the temperature there was too low. A Groton driver struck a deer on Still River Road just before 11:57 p.m., when he reported the incident to police. The deer was not killed, but its fate was unknown.
Sunday, December 16
A Stow Road resident summoned the ambulance at 3:23 a.m. but refused transport to the hospital. At 5:35 p.m. a Green Hill Road resident called dispatch to report his belief that a town plow had clipped his car in passing, causing minor damage. The matter is under investigation.
Monday, December 17
The ambulance squad took a woman from East Bare Hill Road to Nashoba Valley Medical Center at 10:17 a.m. At 2:46 p.m. a three-car accident took place on Ayer Road as a Harvard driver was making a left-hand turn onto Gebo Lane. The car behind him, driven by a Groton woman, was rear-ended by a car driven by another Harvard man, causing a chain reaction. The three cars sustained only moderate damage, and no citations were issued, Castro said. The first car was towed, however, when the investigating officer discovered that its driver did not have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license. At 4:58 p.m. the Harvard ambulance team went to the scene of an accident on Route 2 at the request of Devens Public Safety. The team was again called to help with another accident on Route 2 at 7:58 p.m. at the request of Massachusetts State Police.
