A pageant to remember

December 14, 2007

I wish to extend a message of heartfelt gratitude to all of the hardworking adults, teens, and children who work together to make the Harvard town Christmas pageant the gift that it is. To all those adults and children who gave up beautiful fall Sunday afternoons to rehearse song and dance, to musicians and coordinators, to the behind-the-scenes volunteers who plan, direct, light, type and spell-check, costume, coordinate, vacuum, light candles, video, and move furniture at a moment’s notice: Thank you all for a wonderful job in making this annual tradition that warms our spirits and brightens the holiday.

I am also grateful to the many volunteers whose energies contributed to a festive afternoon on the Common. Thanks to the makers of cocoa and bakers of sweet treats. Thanks to the talented musicians who performed at the church hall: Lizzie Douglas, Jeff Lee, Charles and Kristina Kronauer, Amy Valladares, Vanessa Jacobson, Talia Mercadante, Sarah Cochrane, Tracy Snyder, Hallie Conant, Maggie Cochrane and Annie Lierhaus.

Thanks as well to the musicians of the Harvard Town Band who serenaded us in the cold and to Chris Green of Westward Orchards who drove the haywagon many miles for us this year. It was a wonderful winter afternoon thanks to all of you!

Mary Krause
