When my children were in the Harvard Elementary School way back when, someone, either teacher or administrator, said that education was like a three-legged stool: children, teachers, and parents. I find it upsetting that Superintendent Jefferson did not acknowledge that Harvard parents set a high educational standard for their children. Was Jefferson misquoted or did he simply ignore the parents, the third educational support? Harvard’s teachers and other academically oriented personnel all do a terrific job, but the parents also help make Harvard’s educational system go by setting the standard and making many contributions.
