Chili cook-off a big success

October 19, 2007

The third annual Devens charity chili cook-off on Sunday, October 7, was a great success, with well over 700 people attending. The chili was spectacular! Seventeen local contestants competed for the trophy. The first-place winners were Pam and Butch Bisson from Pepperell, and the second-place chili came from the Spring Hill Suites Marriott in Devens, with head chef Mike Keoseian. Both winners donated their cash prize back to the charity.

The families attending had a great time on the moon bounce, with the face painter, and especially with the entertainment from local musicians—the Tim Kirstead Band and Jay Geils.

With the premier sponsor The Devens Grill, more than $8,000 was raised for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism to help young children in need. We hope to see you all again next year for this great charity event!.
