Still River resident, gardening enthusiast, animal lover

Amy E. Watt, 91, of Still River Depot Road, Still River, died October 1, 2007 at Nashoba Valley Medical Center. She was born in St. Louis de Gonzague, Quebec, Canada November 12, 1915, daughter of the late David M. and Ellen (Symons) Watt. She came to the United States with her family as a young child, living in Spencer, Paxton and Barre. She attended the Barre school system. Her father started the D.M Watt & Sons Dairy Farm and later moved the family to Still River in 1937. Amy helped her mother on the farm and occasionally worked in the dairy. Miss Watt enjoyed hooking rugs and knitting, and was known for her “green thumb” and working in the garden. She also enjoyed all animals and especially loved her horses.
Amy is survived by two brothers, Wilbert “Buzzy” and his wife Lois Watt of Still River, and Clifford and his late wife Viola Watt of Westminster; a sister-in-law, Alice Watt of Still River; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late David Russell Watt and the late Richard Watt, who died earlier this month. She also leaves many friends in Still River.
A memorial service will be held at the Harvard Congregational Church, Still River Road, Friday October 5 at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St./Rt. 2A, Littleton Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial at Bellevue Cemetery will be private.
