At 7:30 a.m., an officer on patrol found a large dead fox in the middle of Littleton Road, and dragged it over to the side. The DPW later came and disposed of the carcass. The ambulance team took someone from Still River Road to Leominster Hospital at 9:48 a.m. The gender of the patient was not noted in the report. A Harvard resident came to the station to turn in a street sign for Scott Road at 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, September 5
An Old Mill Road resident called dispatch to report a truck trespassing on private property at 5:43 p.m. Police checked the area and found nothing, however. The ambulance team took a Still River Road resident to Nashoba Valley Medical Center at 7:12 p.m.
Thursday, September 6
At 1:06 a.m., a Whitman Road man called police to tell them a neighbor’s dog had been barking for hours, and he was “sick and tired of it.” Police were unable to make contact with the dog’s owner, but left a message for the animal control officer regarding the incident. A Leominster man traveling on Bolton Road was stopped at 6:54 a.m. for a motor vehicle violation, and found to be driving without a valid license. Police gave him a summons to Clinton District Court, and called a tow company to come take the car. An unwanted guest at apartments on Stow Road was given a strong verbal warning and told to move along after a complaint about this man came into the station at 11:43 a.m.
Friday, September 7
A horse running loose on Poor Farm Road was reported to dispatch at 7:05 a.m. Police contacted the owner, who rounded the animal up and took him back to the barn. At 2:34 p.m., a Bromfield student was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center for an arm injury he incurred while playing soccer. Two Harvard men driving in opposite directions on Ayer Road right in front of the police station got in a minor accident at 2:37 p.m. No citations were issued, although one car sustained moderate damage.
Saturday, September 8
At 4:15 p.m., an Ayer woman driving alone in a blue Ford Taurus crossed the southbound lane on Ayer Road and struck a utility pole. She suffered severe injuries and was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston by Life Flight. Speed was not a factor in the crash, Officer Castro noted, but the accident is still under investigation. The accident report noted that the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of impact. Harvard police assisted the Massachusetts State Police with an accident on Route 2 westbound at 6:38 p.m. A Myrick Lane resident reported a “doorbell dash” at their home at 10:38 p.m.
Sunday, September 9
At 1:16 a.m., Noe Carranza, 45, was stopped for erratic operation of a car and arrested for suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to stay in marked lanes, and drinking from an open container. He was booked at the station, and later released to his wife. The Harvard Fire Department and ambulance squad gave state police mutual aid on Route 2 eastbound at 10:49 a.m.
Monday, September 10
A level-two sex offender registered his residence in Harvard at the police station at 9:43 a.m. Those who want more information may go to the police station in person and fill out a form requesting more detailed information, Castro said. At 3:15 p.m., a report came in of elementary school parents stopping in the middle of Mass. Ave. to pick up their children from school. At 6:13 p.m., Harvard police helped Littleton police with a psychiatric incident in their town. An Oak Hill Road resident reported an unwanted guest at 6:41 p.m. Police went to the home, and resolved the matter there.
