An officer patrolling Still River Road asked an amorous young couple to move along from their parking spot at 1:53 a.m. A dispute between a divorced couple over a custody matter was the subject of a call to dispatch at 1:19 p.m. After numerous calls to the station about a door-to-door bookseller, Officer Castro interviewed the young salesman on Stow Road at 8:51 p.m. The activity is legal, and no further action was taken. A Still River Road man called police to report harassing phone calls at 9:13 p.m. Dispatch referred him to the phone company.
Wednesday, August 1
A Gardner man was stopped on Ayer Road at 7:04 a.m. for driving a car with a revoked registration. He was given a summons to Clinton District Court and his car was towed from the scene. A minor driving a car with New Jersey plates was stopped for a traffic violation at 7:18 a.m. On investigation, the car turned out to have suspended registration, and both the legal owner and the driver were cited for this offense. At 10:01 a.m., housecleaners in a home on Old Meadow Lane called police to report a suspicious noise in the home. Police found nothing amiss, however. A tractor-trailer truck driver trying to access Devens via Old Mill Road was the subject of a call to dispatch at 10:36 a.m., when a nearby homeowner watched the driver slowly extricate himself with a multiple-point turn. A larceny that transpired over several days was entered into the police log at 11:50 a.m. A Harvard man bought more than $1,000 worth of equipment from a business on Ayer Road, but promised payment at a later date. After the business owner tried to collect the bill on several different occasions, the man finally told him he had no intention of paying. The business owner then contacted police, who gave the man a summons to face a charge of felony larceny in Clinton District Court. A doctor’s office on Ayer Road contacted the station at 3:04 p.m. for help with a patient.
Thursday, August 2
At 7:32 a.m., a neighbor called to report a golden retriever walking on Old Mill Road with a leash attached to his collar, but no owner at the end of it. A Depot Road homeowner summering in Vermont called dispatch to report the possibility of a break-in at his home at 5:37 p.m. While checking on the house, he noticed that someone had apparently used the bathroom. Nothing else was out of place, however, and the incident was noted but not investigated. Police were called to a home on Candleberry Lane at 9:14 p.m. when a malfunctioning light timer caused lights to turn on unexpectedly, alarming the homeowners. An officer was able to restore order in the home by turning the timer off. At 11:30 p.m., a passerby on a cellphone called dispatch to report a candle burning in a window at St. Theresa’s. Dispatch notified Father Dennis, who extinguished the flame.
Friday, August 3
Mailbox vandalism occurred on East Bare Hill Road sometime before 6:01 a.m., when a homeowner on that street called dispatch to report duct tape and firecracker residue on her mailbox. At 6:52 a.m., a Leominster man was stopped on Ayer Road for a motor vehicle violation and found driving without a valid license. His car was towed, and he was given a summons for that offense. Police arrested David Santos, 25, of Acton, at 7:24 a.m. for driving without a valid license for the third time. He was taken to the station and booked, and his car towed from the scene. Police were summoned to Bromfield School at 10:14 a.m. to note inappropriate words painted on the senior class rock. An officer arranged for custodial staff to paint over the offending text. At 11:44 a.m., two housecleaners set off the house alarm on Park Lane. The officer investigating asked the pair for photo identification, which they were unable to provide. Without valid driver’s licenses, their cars were towed from the driveway.
Saturday, August 4
At 2:09 a.m., an Old Littleton Road homeowner called police after she heard the garage door open and suspected an intruder. Police came to the home, and found a malfunctioning garage door opener. A request for an ambulance came in at 5:11 p.m. from a Stow Road residence. The subject refused transport to the hospital, however. Boxborough police called Harvard police at 6:47 p.m. for help locating a naked man running amok in the condos on Codman Hill Road. After causing a great disturbance, he retreated to his own home in the complex, where he was later located, clothed, by a Boxborough police officer. At 8:32 p.m., a young boy living on Prospect Hill Road was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
Sunday, August 5
A Stow Road homeowner called police for help with an unwanted guest at 10:17 a.m. Police came to the home and asked the man to leave the property. At 11:01 a.m., a customer in line at Dunkin’ Donuts called police on her cellphone to report another customer in line holding a boa constrictor. Both boa and owner were gone by the time Officer Castro arrived at the scene, however, and details on what customer and snake ordered were unavailable. Vandals lit two tires on fire on the railroad tracks at Depot Road shortly before 3:35 p.m., when the Fire Department arrived to put out the blaze. An Old Littleton Road resident reported hearing fireworks in the area at 8:44 p.m., but police were unable to find anything suspicious in the neighborhood.

Police gave the Girl Scouts from Camp Green Eyrie a tour of the station at 10:08 a.m.
