An East Bare Hill Road man with chest pains was taken to Emerson Hospital by ambulance at 7:10 a.m. A man driving without a license was stopped at the intersection of Ayer and Mill roads at 10:55 a.m. He was given a summons to Clinton District Court, and his car was towed from the scene. At 2:19 p.m., a Harvard police officer clipped a stone wall while exiting the town cemetery in reverse gear. Damage to the vehicle was minor, Officer Castro said.
Wednesday, May 23
A single-car accident on Route 2 was the subject of a Massachusetts State Police call to dispatch at 8:06 a.m. The fire department responded to the scene, and arranged transport for the driver to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. An Ayer Road doctor’s office requested ambulance transport for a woman at 11:13 a.m. She was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. A child called police at 7:58 p.m. to report that an adult had come to his Madigan Lane home asking for his mother. Police checked the area, but were unable to locate anyone near the home. A Craggs Road resident called dispatch to report the sound of gunshots at 9:37 p.m. Officer Healy explained that the police and fire departments were in the middle of training excercises at that time, which accounted for the noise.
Thursday, May 24
An overheated car on the Route 2 ramp was reported to dispatch at 6:25 a.m. Harvard police helped the driver push the car to a safe part of the road, then called to arrange for a tow truck. A caller at Bromfield reported an unpermitted car in the disabled parking space at 9:06 a.m. Police checked the area, but the car was gone on arrival. A Mass. Avenue man was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center by the ambulance team at 3:39 p.m. A Littleton County Road resident reported the sound of heavy equipment at 11 p.m. Police checked the area, but found nothing.
Friday, May 25
A Nashoba Valley Medical Center patient asked police to deliver a message to a Shaker Road home at 1:23 a.m. At 3:27 a.m., the ambulance team took an Ayer Road man to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. A caller reported a small black dog causing a traffic problem at the intersection of Pinnacle and Old Littleton roads at 6:41 a.m. Police checked the area, but did not find the troublesome canine. The fire department visited the home of an Ann Lee Road homeowner to issue a warning about burning out of season at 9:56 a.m. At 10:28 a.m., a Whitman Road resident called dispatch to report finding a sailboat washed up on the shore. Police ask that the owner contact the station for information on recovering the boat. The Boxborough police called at 10:56 p.m. to ask for help locating a car driven by someone they believed to be operating under the influence. Harvard police checked the area for the car, but were unable to locate it.
Saturday, May 26
At 2:21 a.m., police on patrol determined that a truck knocked over a stop sign at the intersection of Fairbank Street and Littleton Road. At 7:45 a.m., the Department of Public Works repaired the sign. Another small dog caused traffic problems for residents, this time at 8:20 a.m. on Pinnacle Road. Again, police were unable to locate the animal in question. At 1:24 p.m., Xi Ren, 43, of Littleton County Road, was arrested for speeding and failure to keep right after he crossed a lane, hit a mailbox, and then hit a utility pole. His car was towed from the scene, and he was booked into the Harvard police station. Ren was released at 4:15 p.m. A Pond Road neighbor called dispatch to report fireworks at 10:57 p.m., but police checked the area and found nothing suspicious.
Sunday, May 27
A Littleton County Road resident called police to report a large, rowdy group of teens walking down the road at 12:12 a.m. Police found the teens, and asked them to return to the facility where they were staying. A Cliffside Drive homeowner called the station at 1:10 a.m. to report a brush fire in the front yard. The fire department responded and wet down the area. A Harvard man called police at 4:12 p.m. to say he lost his wallet at the transfer station that morning. Police advised him to contact the DPW for help. An Old Meadow Road man called police to report religious solicitors at 7:52 p.m. Police located the solicitors, and asked that they register at the station as a courtesy. A Slough Road man called dispatch at 11:55 to report the sound of nearby gunshots, but police checked the area and found it secure.
Monday, May 28
A Depot Road homeowner called police to report two suspicious-looking cars at 3:08 p.m. Police checked the cars, but could not locate the drivers. At 10:53 p.m., police pulled one of the cars over near Ayer and Old Shirley roads, and warned the driver to stay in marked lanes.
