The Bromfield boys track and field team ran at the District E, Class C Invitational meet last Saturday at Algonquin Regional High School and earned 37 points overall, finishing last in a field of seven other competitors. Bromfield placed in the top three spots in a number of events.
In the two-mile run, freshman Max Flaton finished in second place, running his event in 10:30. Following in fourth place was junior Alex Calderwood, with a time of 10:57. Bromfield also had some success in the one-mile run when sophomores Sam Dorward and Ben Waldman finished second and fifth, respectively. Dorward finished with a time of 4:45, with Waldman behind by just three seconds.
Junior Conor Garrison placed second in the 110-meter hurdles event with a time of 17 seconds. Two Trojans also qualified for the 200-meter dash event. Sophomore Kevin Molinaro placed 12th, while seventh-grader Thanny Alexander came in 13th. In the 300-meter hurdles, senior Toby Frost came in sixth place with a time of 46 seconds.
The Trojans ran three relay teams in the district meet. The 4 x 100-meter relay team placed seventh, and both the 4 x 400-meter and 4 x 800-meter teams came in fifth.
