With heavy hearts and tears in our eyes, we say goodbye to Harvard. As we’ve said before, this town is a jewel. It is a wonderful place to live, raise a family, learn the values of community, and make lifelong friends. For 10 years we have enjoyed all this town has to offer. Please remember, this town’s foundation is built on volunteerism and commitment to a certain way of life. We see that way of life slowly shifting. Please do not budge or you will never get it back. Hold firm to your values and steadfast on how the majority wants this town to evolve—not a select few. Our hopes are that this town retains its character, our wide open spaces, the agricultural roots, and the diversity of wildlife that live in our woods and fields. You only have to look 15 miles toward Boston to know what Harvard might become.
God (or whatever deity you pray to) bless this town. We feel honored to have spent the past 10 years here. We will miss you all and think about you often. Thank you for the opportunities to learn and live in what a real New England town is like—first hand. Our memories will never fade, our friends will never be more than an email away, and our wonderful experiences will live deep in our hearts.
