Thanks for saving Roxanne

March 2, 2007

We would like to thank everyone involved in the rescue of our dog last Thursday from an icy bog off Stow Road. It appears our dog has a guardian angel, or many, for that matter. A tragedy was averted by individuals who heard our dog frantically barking as she failed to pull herself from the neck-deep ice and mud. They summoned Assistant Animal Control Officer Ann Bamford, who soon located our trapped dog. The situation was serious enough to request assistance from our Fire Department and rescue squad. These individuals and town professionals are our heroes. We can not thank them enough.

Last, we would like to thank Shepherd Veterinary Clinic for the expert care given to our dog after the rescue. They recognized her, called us immediately, and provided the care she needed for exhaustion and hyperthermia.

This town is a jewel—a community of essential elements. Thanks to everyone who was involved in our little drama. We are truly lucky.
