Field house fielding volunteers

February 2, 2007

The Harvard Park and Recreation Commission is looking to form a Field House Building Committee for the field house planned for Harvard Park. Through the use of funds acquired at the 2005 Annual Town Meeting, the commission has planned and is building the foundation of the structure this fall. Now it is time to plan the upstairs of the field house. In its basic form we had envisioned that the foundation, at track level, would be available to store track equipment such as mats, hurdles, and other items. The upstairs or parking lot level could be used for such things as concessions, changing rooms, or meeting rooms. Maybe residents have additional ideas or thoughts on how to configure the building. We need people with ideas, people for fund- raising, and people to help construct and landscape. To pass on ideas or volunteer to help with this project, please contact: Jim Lee at j_lee@dfci.harvard.edu or (978) 456-3122. We would like to organize a meeting to go over the ideas and to start fundraising for this project as soon as possible so that we can have a complete field house by this summer.
