Tuesday morning Harvard police received a phone call about a domestic matter that was resolved by phone. A short time later, at 7:40 a.m., a fire alarm rang at a residence on Old Littleton Road. The alarm was false. Morning and early afternoon passed quietly until a call shortly after 4 p.m. from a resident locked out of his car. A short time later, police were called to Spencer Road in Boxborough for mutual aid to that town’s police department. Suspicious activity was reported on Ayer Road at 7:22 p.m., but an officer found a cleaning person doing his job. A West Bare Hill Road resident called to report the sound of gunshot shortly before 8 p.m. The investigating officer found a blown transformer and called the power company.
Wednesday, Nov. 15
Wednesday morning was uneventful until 8 a.m., when dispatch received a call from the post office about a suspicious package. Police checked the package, which was determined to be safe and sent on its way. The morning passed uneventfully until just after 2 p.m., when a Harvard resident came to the station to report a larceny involving his bank account and the Internet. A Stow Road resident called to report a suspicious person right before 10 p.m., but the investigating officer found someone out for a walk. Events of note came to a close at 10:27 p.m., when police officers called animal control to come round up some horses loose on Depot Road.
Thursday, Nov. 16
More fire and burglar alarms rang throughout the day Thursday, but all proved false. A resident called to report a dubious-looking vehicle near Old Shirley Road at 11:30 p.m., but the police officer found a driver pulled over to talk on his cell phone. Close to midnight, a homeowner called dispatch to report a tree in the road near Myrick Lane and Ayer Road. Police called the highway department for assistance.
Friday, Nov. 17
Friday was very quiet. Police assisted a driver with a disabled vehicle near Ayer and Old Shirley roads shortly before 7 a.m., and issued two motor vehicle general traffic violations at 8 and 8:27 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 18
Early in the morning Saturday, police pulled over a car on Ayer Road and Myrick Lane for a general traffic violation. A moment later, they pulled over another and issued another citation. At 5:04 a.m., a Myrick Lane resident called to report a suspicious vehicle in the area, which was gone when an officer arrived. A resident called to speak with an officer about a domestic dispute at 9:20 a.m., and the matter was resolved by phone. Another false fire alarm rang at the corner of Shaker and Old Littleton roads at 4:36 p.m., and another at 6:17 p.m. at a residence on Pinnacle Road.
Sunday, Nov. 19
A motor vehicle accident was reported at 2:08 p.m. Details of the accident were not available at press time. A motor vehicle stop at 7:23 p.m. resulted in a citation for a driver traveling along Ayer Road.
Monday, Nov. 20
Monday was also a quiet day for law enforcement. A low-hanging wire on Littleton County Road was reported to dispatch at 11:42 a.m. The officer on duty called the power company to report the problem. A residential alarm rang on Madigan Lane just before 4 p.m., but an officer determined that it was a false call. A traffic citation issued to a driver near Bolton Road and Armstrong Lane at 6:55 p.m. was the last item of significance on Monday’s blotter.
