In the past week, police made one motor vehicle stop, resulting in a civil citation that carries a fine. They also made two mental health evaluations, issued or renewed a firearm permit, checked on five disabled motor vehicles, and responded to a false burglar alarm.
The Ambulance Service answered 14 calls and transported nine patients to the hospital, five with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance crew responded to four motor vehicle collisions; there was one lift assist.
Tuesday, Feb. 21
At 6:43 a.m. a person on East Bare Hill Road reported suspicious activity: Their own house was listed on Craigslist as being for rent. At 2:40 p.m. a caller complained of vehicles speeding to and from a construction site near Mettacomet Path.
Wednesday, Feb. 22
At 12:13 a.m. police alerted the Department of Public Works that roads were becoming slick. At 1:09 p.m. a caller told police someone in a black Honda SUV was driving around Babbitt Lane, taking photos of houses; the car and driver were gone when police arrived.
Thursday, Feb. 23
At 4:23 a.m. state police called on Harvard officers for assistance after a car crash on Route 2 that involved a stolen vehicle. Two people fled on foot from the wrecked car, heading in the direction of the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club on Littleton County Road. Harvard police used their drone, and state police brought their canine unit to follow the suspects’ tracks in the snow. But the footprints indicated the two were picked up by someone in a car on Whitcomb Avenue in Littleton. At 7:55 a.m. a caller reported a fallen tree on Ayer Road. At 8:45 a.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Route 2 westbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 9:07 a.m. Harvard police were called to back up state police at an incident on Interstate 495 northbound involving a person with a gun in a car. At 12:11 p.m. someone turned in a set of two silver keys on a keychain with a firefighter’s emblem; it had been found at the Transfer Station and is still at the police station. At 7:27 p.m. police alerted the DPW to hazardous road conditions townwide. At 10:37 p.m. a crash was reported on Route 2 eastbound.
Friday, Feb. 24
At 8:45 a.m. police again notified the DPW of icy roads. At 4:02 p.m. an Old Littleton Road resident came to the station with a complaint of harassment; police advised him it was a civil matter. At 7:47 p.m. a 911 caller told police he had been robbed at knifepoint in Leominster and then forced to drive the assailant to Worcester; the caller was now at a relative’s house in Harvard. The matter was reported to Leominster police for investigation.
Saturday, Feb. 25
At 12:04 p.m. an officer saw a pile of construction debris in the roadway on Still River Road and removed the hazard. At 1:54 p.m. a caller reported a crash on Interstate 495 southbound. At 4 p.m. roads all across town were again becoming icy, so police notified the DPW. At 6:15 p.m. a DPW driver saw a car that had slid off Old Littleton Road and reported it to the police.
Sunday, Feb. 26
Nothing significant to report.
Monday, Feb. 27
At 2:22 p.m. a Prospect Hill Road resident called with suspicions about a person driving around the area and claiming to be a private investigator; the person was gone when police arrived. At 11:29 p.m. someone leaving a basketball game at the Bromfield School found their car had been stolen while they were inside and called police to report it. The matter is under investigation.
