Fireworks ‘out of reach,’ parade and events salvageable if volunteers step up

April 7, 2023

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but silence is all that will be heard in Harvard in three months if the Fourth of July Committee cannot find enough volunteers to assist with the parade and field events. I am urging, begging, anyone who can, to help the committee with this year’s festivities. The more people who step up, the less each individual has to do.

Rising costs have put the fireworks out of our reach.

The committee will have no choice but to cancel the parade and field events if not enough volunteers come forward by April 15. This is not a melodramatic, idle threat, merely a statement of fact.

Individuals and local organizations who want to volunteer may contact me at cgchalifoux@gmail.com or 978-697-3274.
