Sculpture at the orchard
Old Frog Pond Farm and Studio will hold the opening reception for its outdoor sculpture exhibit “The Art of Noticing” Sunday, Sept. 6, 1 to 5 p.m., at 38 Eldridge Road. The exhibit includes over 50 sculptures plus a collection of plein air poems scattered along trails around the pond and through the woods. Follow the self-guided tour, pick organic raspberries, listen to music by friends, and enjoy refreshments. Free and open to all.
Sculpture trails are open to the public for self-guided tours Wednesdays through Sundays to Oct. 12, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for children. (OldFrogPondFarm.com/upcoming-events).

Devens farmers market
The next Devens farmers market will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and will continue every other Tuesday through Oct. 20. SPARC tour at Commonwealth Fusion Systems
Commonwealth Fusion Systems will host a tour of SPARC, its prototype fusion energy machine currently under construction, Thursday, Sept. 10, 5 to 6:30 p.m., at 117 Hospital Road, Devens. Herb workshop
Old Frog Pond Farm and Studio, 38 Eldridge Road, will hold an herb workshop Saturday, Sept. 12, 10 a.m. to noon. Farm manager and herbalist Isa Budnik will address how to harvest, dry, and prepare teas, oils, and salves from nettles, calendula, different mints, thyme, and lemon balm. Edible wild plants
The Goose and Hen farm will offer a class on finding, eating, and cooking with wild edibles Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2 to 3:30 p.m., at a location within a 30-minute drive from Harvard. Stargazing at Fruitlands
The Aldrich Astronomical Society will hold evening stargazing Thursday, Sept. 17, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Fruitlands Museum, 102 Prospect Hill Road. Scopes will be available for visitor use, and there will be a hands-on table full of astronomical artifacts including meteorites. Craft beer and food truck festival
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in the Assabet Valley will hold its fifth annual Assabet Craft Beer and Food Truck Festival Saturday, Sept. 5, noon to 4 p.m., at 353 Great Road, Stow. This is a family-friendly event with something for everyone: craft beer, food trucks, games for all ages, and live music. Loaves & Fishes fundraiser at Dirigible Brewing Co.
Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry will host a fundraiser Tuesday, Sept. 8, 5 to 8 p.m., at Dirigible Brewing Co., 24 Porter Road, Littleton. Beer and nonalcoholic beverages will be available, and Twizted Pickle will sell food. $1 from every drink purchased and 10% of food sales will go to Loaves & Fishes. Manufacturing in zero gravity
The astrophysics speaker series at the EcoTarium, 222 Harrington Way, Worcester, will present a lecture on materials properties in microgravity Saturday, Sept. 12, 5 to 5:45 p.m. Jason Lee, associate professor-in-residence at the University of Connecticut, will discuss how experiments on the International Space Station may lead to manufacturing processes not possible on Earth, and the potential role of commercial partners after the ISS is decommissioned in 2030.
