The vital importance of the town administrator’s position for our town and community mandates that a professional, full-time recruitment firm be an integral part of the process. A well qualified placement firm has the ability to properly screen various applicants and to qualify and verify the various information provided by the applicants. A placement firm can also rely on a well-established network of professional employment services throughout the region. This ensures only a very well qualified pool of candidates will be presented to the Select Board’s search committee for consideration. The recruitment search firm with their human resource professionalism provides a vital service to the Select Board and community, many of whom may have very limited executive search or employment evaluation experience.
Many community members are voicing their concern with the initial phases of the search for this important administrative position. There needs to be an in-person meeting of the Select Board and search committee with the general community to have an understanding of the current process status and to further discuss the executive search and recruitment firm as being part of this process. It is too important and too vital to the future of this community not to have this position and potential candidates evaluated by a professional recruitment firm. This will add human resource professionalism to the entire process and will enable only the truly best qualified candidates to be presented for the review and interview process with the Select Board and search committee.
May the very very best candidate prevail and serve our community with integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
