Melinda Sowizral, Peggy Zimmer, Ann Ford, and Lore Mandozzi ran in the Boston Marathon April 20 as members of a 13-person CYCLE Kids marathon team. They succeeded in raising more than $12,000 of the $50,000-plus raised by the whole team. CYCLE Kids is committed to fighting childhood obesity by teaching urban children in low-income communities the joys of biking, how to make positive nutritional choices, and how to increase a child’s self-esteem, academic performance, and opportunities.
