Police returned a lost disabled-parking permit to its owner at 10:54 a.m. An officer went to Bromfield at 12:47 p.m. to follow up on a case of vandalism that occurred at Shaker Hills golf course two months ago. The investigation is ongoing, according to Officer Castro. At 1:21 p.m., Harvard police assisted Boxborough police with traffic direction after a car accident in their town. An elderly woman was transported from her home on Bolton Road to Nashoba Valley Medical Center at 4:41 p.m. A false alarm rang at a home on Madigan Lane at 6:46 p.m.
Wednesday, April 4
A Cameron Road resident called police at 12:29 to report that his daughter had received a suspicious letter. After contacting the girl’s mother, police determined that the letter was part of a school project and conveyed that to the father. A preschooler pulled the fire alarm at the Village Nursery School at 12:53 p.m., summoning police. An officer consoled the toddler’s distraught mother, who was the most upset by the incident, Castro said. A Harvard man driving down Slough Road braked too quickly and slid into a tree just before 4:59 p.m. There was minor damage to the car, but no citations were issued. The ambulance squad took a Harvard man living on Ayer Road to Nashoba hospital at 11:03 p.m.
Thursday, April 5
A Harvard police officer working a private detail for a company cutting trees on Littleton Road pulled over a Harvard woman driving at excessive speed at 9:41 a.m. She was charged with erratic operation of a vehicle and given a summons to Clinton District Court. Harvard police assisted the state police with an accident on the Route 2 ramp at 10:52 a.m. A license plate found on Slough Road was returned to the owner at 1:51 p.m. At 2:52 p.m., police called the front office of the elementary school to page the owner of a car parked in the fire lane to come and move the car. A car versus deer accident on Littleton Road took place at 3:53 p.m. There was minor damage to both car and deer, but neither was towed from the scene.
Friday, April 6
An officer delivered a message to an East Bare Hill Road resident at 11:59, asking him to call the police department in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. At 4:48 p.m., police checked in on a group walking with a cross from St. Theresa’s to a church in Bolton for a Good Friday event.
Saturday, April 7
An officer patrolling the Harvard Plaza parking lot noticed a parked car occupied by a suspicious-looking driver at 2:30 a.m. After asking him for identification, police cited the man for consuming an open container of alcohol while behind the wheel of a car. A Dracut man driving north on Ayer Road struck a pole located just off the road by the Appleworks building at 8:44 p.m. The officer investigating the accident found the driver intoxicated, and cited him for operating under the influence before sending him to Nashoba for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash. His car was towed from the scene. A short time later, at 9:21 p.m., Ayer police asked Harvard police for backup when the same man assaulted hospital personnel at Nashoba. He was then summoned to Clinton District Court on an assault charge.
Sunday, April 8
A woman homeowner on Stow Road was taken to Emerson Hospital at 10:48 p.m.
Monday, April 9
Judith Lescarbeau, 53, of Beverly, was broadsided by a car driven by a man from Acton as she pulled out of the Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot at 8:22 a.m. Officer Castro, who investigated the accident, found that she was driving with a suspended license and had a warrant for several motor vehicle violations from Lawrence District Court. Her car was towed from the scene, and she was transported to Clinton District Court and released on personal recognizance. No citations were issued in the accident. A residential burglar alarm rang at a home on Cleaves Hill Road at 3:04 p.m., but police found no suspicious activity.
