Bromfield sixth-grader Kelly Pickreign’s Assabet Valley Girls hockey team recently won both the Massachusetts and National Girls Tier 1 U12 hockey tournaments. The team had a 39-1-1 record in girls national and international play and was ranked number one in the United States for most of the 2011-12 hockey season. The team also competed and won the boys Northstar Hockey Championship in Westborough in a double-overtime win.
Pickreign is the goaltender and has played for Assabet for the last five years.
