Animal Adventures at Fruitlands
Fruitlands will host an opportunity to meet wild animals from New England and beyond with a visit from Animal Adventures Saturday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. Learn about animal behaviors, habitats, and conservation in this interactive presentation. Potluck Supper and Movie
A family potluck supper, followed by a showing of “The Lego Movie,” will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Church’s Fellowship Building, 7 Elm St. Participants are asked to bring a main course food item to share and loose LEGO pieces for donation to Haiti.
Downsizing Workshop
Realtor Deb Kotlarz will offer practical advice to help reduce the stress related to downsizing Monday, Jan. 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Hildreth House. Her talk will focus on mastering the home buyer mindset; understanding the impact of generational trends on home value; and avoiding costly pitfalls. Refreshments will be served.

Sing with Harvard Pro Musica
Harvard Pro Musica started its spring season last week and invites you to come to one of its Tuesday rehearsals, no audtions required. Folk and roots music with James Keelaghan
The Harvard Friends of the Arts will present James Keelaghan in concert Saturday, Jan. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Volunteers Hall at the Harvard Public Library. Keelaghan is known as the Canadian poet laureate of the folk and roots music world. The concert is free, but donations to support the Friends of the Arts programs are gratefully accepted. Film at Fruitlands
Fruitlands Museum will offer another film in its “Food for Thought” series Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. at the musuem. “Y.E.R.T.” follows three friends on their year-long quest to keep track of all their garbage on a journey across the 50 states. As the YERT team layers outlandish eco-challenges onto its quest, an unexpected turn of events throws the project for a loop in this award-winning docu-comedy. Admission is free; a soup-and-bread dinner is $5.

Art Exhibit Opening
Lawrence Academy will host an opening reception for an exhibit of art by Dylan Callahan and Leah Meserve at its Conant Gallery Friday, Jan. 9, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The gallery display will include both prints and mixed media pieces, and the artists will be present for the opening event, which will also feature live music and refreshments. Winter Campout
in Central Massachusetts
The Trustees of the Reservations will host a weekend of winter camping Saturday, Jan. 17, and Sunday, Jan. 18, at Tully Lake Campground, 25 Doane Hill Road, Royalston. The trustees will open the campground for folks willing to brave the cold for the unique experience of winter camping at Tully Lake. They will provide educational information before the trip about building snow shelters, skiing across the lake, building fires, and tracking; activities throughout the weekend will be offered. Just ’Cause Walk
The 13th Just ’Cause Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk is scheduled for May 29, 30, and 31. An informational meeting about the walk will be held Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Bolton Public Library. Funds raised by this walk benefit the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden on Bolton Road and the Mass General Hospital Breast Cancer Research Fund.
