Press release submitted by Roxanne Daleo
Relaxation of mind, body and spirit is essential for everyone. Our kids are overwhelmed with academic and social pressures, and feel more anxious and depressed causing them to use
prescription drugs experiencing the unwanted side effects.
Dr. Roxie (as she is affectionately called) will give a keynote presentation to 97 education directors and 140
camp counselors at the Mass Audubon Field School on June 15th at 10:30 a.m. to demonstrate
how to endow children with stress reduction life skills.
Building on existing curriculum, tapping the natural world as a way to instill in children the value
of life ad ways to cherish the moment. This will not only enhance the child’s camp experience,
but the campers’ everyday life beyond the Mass Audubon sanctuary.
Dr. Roxie is committed to developing an interface between the camp/program experience and the wisdom of nature as a platform for understanding the interconnectedness of all life. To invite children and adults to bring this experience into the heart using conscious relaxation methods and take home the effective ways to relive and reinvigorate the relaxed experience when they are away from nature, feeling anxious, lonely or depressed.
