Dr. Patricia Ruze has been honored as the recipient of the 2018 Community Service Award at the Enterprise Bank Celebration of Excellence. Ruze, a resident of Willow Road, an internal medicine physician, and an assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, provides free medical care in the Dominican Republic and co-founded “At Home and Afar,” a nonprofit organization that sends medical professionals and volunteers to the Dominican Republic to provide free medical care, medical education, and clean drinking water, as well as meaningful volunteer opportunities. Locally, the organization provides consistent support for other local charities.
