June 7, 2018

The long-anticipated Devens Jurisdiction Committee is now fully staffed, and with two more members than originally planned. At its Tuesday evening meeting, the Select Board first voted to expand committee membership from seven to nine, and then it added five members to an initial four the board had already chosen. The initial four are Lucy Wallace and Kara Minar, who fill two seats reserved for the Select Board; Erin McBee, who represents the Planning Board; and Victor Normand, former chair of the Devens Economic Analysis Team (DEAT). The five additional members are SusanMary Redinger, a member of the School Building Committee, the School Committee, and the Capital Planning and Investment Committee; Heather Knowles, a Devens resident and member of the Devens Education al Advisory Committee; George Glazier, a retired Army officer and Devens resident; Paul Green, a former member of DEAT; and Tim Myllykangas , head of a location strategy and real estate practice for Cresa, a Boston-based corporate services firm.

The committee is charged with developing a plan for resuming jurisdiction of the portions of Devens that were part of Harvard. Members will serve a two-year term but are eligible for reappointment.
