“Neither Wife Nor Widow” will be discussed by author Ruth Sherburne Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m. The book explores the emotional realities of caregiving for a loved one with dementia and sheds light into a caregiver’s mind.
Thanksgiving lunch. Come for a turkey dinner with all the fixings, prepared by Bill Ference of William Ference Catering, Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1 p.m. Harvard residents and volunteers only.
Sisters of Support will meet Thursday, Nov. 20, 10 a.m. An Emerson Hospital dietician will discuss how to make a nutritious meal for one, when you are used to feeding two or more.
A beginner’s guide to ChatGPT, Friday, Nov. 21, 11 a.m. to noon. Adam will explain what ChatGPT is, how it works, and how to use it safely. Bring your own device; smartphone, tablet, or laptop, and start using it immediately with or without an account. Advance sign-up is required.
The foot care clinic will resume Monday, Nov. 24, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for 30-minute appointments; $60 cash or check. The nurse will assess feet and lower limbs, offer skin and nail care, and advise on prevention and management of foot concerns. Advance registration is required.

Order California navel oranges and Ruby Red grapefruit from the Harvard Lions by Friday, Nov. 14, and receive them delivered to your home by Dec. 13.
Fuel assistance is available in a state program open to both homeowners and renters; income limits apply. Assistance is also available through HEAT (Harvard Energy Assistance Team.) Call the COA for help in applying.
Meet with other men for coffee, doughnuts, and conversation at the weekly men’s coffee, Wednesdays at 9 a.m.
Weekly grocery shopping. The van to Market Basket in Littleton departs Fridays, 10 a.m.
Congregate meals are served Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon at the senior center. Meals on wheels can also be arranged.
Financial help is available through SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), the Loaves & Fishes food pantry, veterans benefits, and real estate tax assistance. The COA can make referrals to agencies and organizations that may be able to make your life easier.
Help with computers. Adam is available for one-on-one computer training or anything related to computers or technology. Call the COA (not Adam) for an appointment.
COA van guidelines. There is no fee for the use of the van. To schedule a ride, call the COA; 48 hours’ notice is requested, but not more than one month ahead. Wheelchair users must be accompanied by a companion.
