Former resident, human resources executive, loved cars, riding his lawn tractor ‘Big Red’

Guerry Anson Briggs, 83, loving husband for 62 years, died peacefully at Cape Cod Hospital on Sept. 28, 2025.

During his career as a human resources executive he worked for several high-tech companies, including Hewlett-Packard, Versyss, Diligent Technologies, and Honeywell.

Guerry lived in Harvard for many years before moving to the Cape in 2013. He loved cars, working in his yard and relaxing at Dowses Beach, and his Honda lawn tractor “Big Red.”

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Damon) Briggs, and sons Paul Briggs (Lee) of Watertown and Kurt Briggs (Kelly) of Cotuit; grandchildren Kacie (Michael) Miklavic of Sarasota, Florida, Kelcie (Christian) Brown of Bristol, Rhode Island, and Kyle King of Providence, Rhode Island. He is also survived by his brother, Paul (Ann) Briggs of Newton, New Jersey, and five great great-grandchildren who would light up his life: Blake and Mille Miklavic and Brooks, Sage, and Callum Brown.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
