Former Harvard resident, loved traveling, dining out, watching all types of sports

Richard “Dick” Ball Gilmore, 72, of Franklin, New Hampshire, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2025.

Dick was born in Borough of Glen Ridge, New Jersey, on Jan. 4, 1953, to Daisy (Maybee) and John Gilmore. For the first 11 years of his life he lived in Canterbury, New Hampshire. He then moved to Harvard, where he graduated from the Bromfield School in 1970 and resided until 2010. He relocated a few times prior to his death, residing in Jacksonville and in Palm Coast, Florida, and lastly in Franklin, New Hampshire. Over the years Dick enjoyed a long and rewarding career in transportation and logistics.

In his spare time Dick loved to travel, go out to dinner, and watch all types of sports.

Dick is survived by his wife, Susan M. (Berg) Gilmore; his son, Matthew Wilkinson; his daughter, Erica Wagner; grandchildren, Brandon Wagner, Caydence Wagner, Freya Wilkinson, and Andrew Wilkinson; brothers, Tom Gilmore and Craig Gilmore; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his brother, Norman Gilmore.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Aug. 30, in Franklin, New Hampshire, at a private residence. For further details, email the family at gilmorerb@att.net.
