The ambulance responded to 11 calls and transported six patients to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance also provided two lift assists. There were no ambulance calls to motor vehicle collisions.
Tuesday, Aug. 12
At 3:29 p.m. a fire alarm went off at a Babbitt Lane home; the duty officer found it was caused by a dirty detector.
Wednesday, Aug. 13
At 3:18 p.m. a carbon monoxide alarm sounded at a West Bare Hill Road house, but the duty office found no cause for the alarm. At 4:19 p.m. the duty officer responded to a fire alarm on Lancaster County Road and determined the detector needed to be cleaned. At 4:26 p.m. Engine 4 and the forestry truck helped to extinguish a brush fire on Oak Hill Road in Littleton.
Thursday, Aug. 14
At 5:52 p.m. burned food caused a fire alarm to go off at an Ayer Road residence. At 8:33 p.m. the duty officer responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Old Shirley Road and found carbon monoxide in the basement from the furnace. Engine 2 and the tower truck were called, and their crews shut off the furnace and ventilated the house.
Saturday, Aug. 16
At 12:53 a.m. a fire alarm went off at a house on Pond Road. The resident reset the alarm before the duty officer arrived. The alarm went off again at 6:54 a.m. No cause was apparent. At 10:01 p.m. smoke was reported in a garage on Stow Road; the cause was a bad electrical breaker.
Monday, Aug. 18
At 8:27 a.m. a car ran over a gasoline can that had fallen off another vehicle on Ayer Road. Engine 2 responded, and its crew cleaned up the spill and removed the can from beneath the car. At 11:24 a.m. the duty officer responded to an alarm on Fairbank Street and found the cause was a faulty detector.
