Welcome kindergartners
Parents with kindergartners starting at Hildreth Elementary School this fall are invited to the HES playground Monday, Aug. 25, 4 p.m., for popsicles and playground time and to meet other kindergartners, their families, and the HES principals. This free event is open to all incoming HES kindergartners and their families and is sponsored by the Harvard Family Association and Harvard Schools PTO.

‘Time Traveler’ at Carlson Orchards
Suzanne Buell with Time Traveler will perform outdoors Saturday, Aug. 23, 4 to 7:30 p.m., at Carlson’s Cider Barn, 115 Oak Hill Road. Bring the family, play lawn games with the kids, and relax with pizza and signature ciders. The Harvard-based band plays an eclectic mix of traditional folk, blues, and country, with a splash of retro pop.
‘Sister Una Lived A Good Death’ screening and discussion
The Council on Aging will show the PBS documentary film “Sister Una Lived A Good Death” Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1 p.m., at the Harvard Senior Center, 16 Lancaster County Road. After receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis, Sister Úna, a smoking, drinking, wisecracking Catholic nun dedicated to mentoring teens, chooses to live life to the fullest in the face of death. Dine with the alpacas
Harvard Alpaca Ranch, 58 Old Mill Road, will hold a dinner in the company of their alpacas Saturday, Aug. 23, 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the ranch. Lost Shoe Brewery of Marlborough will offer a selection of locally made craft beers for sale, accompanying a catered dinner and unique dessert. Duppy Conquerors at Fruitlands
Fruitlands Museum will host the last in its summer concert series with the Duppy Conquerors Thursday, Aug. 28, 7 p.m., at 102 Prospect Hill Road. Yoga on Rogers Field

Nashoba Valley Chorale summer sing
Join the Nashoba Valley Chorale for their summer sing of Beethoven’s Mass in C, led by Anne Watson Born and accompanied by Shawn McCann, Monday, Aug. 25, at the Acton Congregational Church, 12 Concord Road, Acton. The evening will start at 7 p.m. with a warmup and a talk about the piece, followed by singing at 7:30 p.m. Bring a score if you have one; scores will be provided for those needing one. Craft beer and food truck festival
First Parish Church of Stow and Acton will hold their fourth annual Assabet Craft Beer and Food Truck Festival Saturday, Aug. 30, noon to 4 p.m., at 353 Great Road, Stow. This is a family-friendly event for the local community, with something for everyone: Craft beer, food trucks, games for all ages, and live music. Profits support social justice causes of the church. $10 suggested donation, under 12 free, plus $6 per drink, $1 per game.
