The No. 2 seed girls tennis team fell to No. 6 Manchester Essex Hornets 3-2 in a hard-fought MIAA Division 4 State Tournament semifinal June 11 at Saint John’s High School in Shrewsbury. The match hung in the balance until the very end when Manchester Essex junior Grace Scarborough defeated Bromfield freshman Luise Tatarev in a 35-game marathon, 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 6-7 (6-8) in a best-of-eight tiebreaker. Bromfield’s spring varsity sports season has now ended. Sports Roundup will resume publication this fall with the start of the 2025-2026 school year and the return of boys and girls soccer, golf, field hockey, and boys and girls cross-country and rowing.
