Legislating the town’s business doesn’t end when Annual Town Meeting adjourns Saturday evening. Town Election follows on Tuesday, May 6, and it’s there that voters will decide who will fill the open seats on Harvard’s four elected boards and how much taxpayers are willing to pay for municipal services and education next fiscal year.
How you vote on Questions 1A and 1B will have consequences for the town and its schools, as explained by reporter Joan Eliyesil in her article detailing what voters need to know about Town Election 2025. We encourage readers to review their understanding of how the votes they cast will affect daily life in Harvard. It’s also notable that voters have a choice in deciding which of three candidates will fill two empty seats on the Select Board, the town’s most senior committee, and which of four candidates will fill the two available seats on the library’s board of trustees. While not every seat is contested, all nine candidates have provided thoughtful answers to Press questions, and we hope readers will take time to reflect on what each has written before heading to the polls.
