In the past week, police made 32 motor vehicle stops, all resulting in written warnings or citations. Officers also performed a well-being check, checked on a disabled vehicle, and responded to a false burglar alarm.
Tuesday, May 13
At 12:02 a.m. a parent called police, saying their teenager was being threatened with extortion online. At 12:36 p.m. a caller reported a dead dog on West Bare Hill Road.
Wednesday, May 14
At 8:13 p.m. someone called to report a possible trespasser near the intersection of Ann Lees Road and Babbitt Lane. At 9:18 p.m. a Peninsula Road resident reported a fishing boat with bright floodlights that repeatedly shined into the caller’s bedroom, sometimes until 4 a.m. Police identified the fisherman by his car registration but were not able to reach him by phone; they left a note on his car asking him to call the station.
Thursday, May 15
At 12:30 p.m. a Stow Road resident called to say a possibly rabid raccoon was on the back porch; the animal control officer was notified. At 3:46 p.m. a caller from Old Littleton Road asked for the animal control officer, saying their small, black and tan Labradoodle had escaped.
Friday, May 16
At 5 p.m. someone came to the station for advice on a landlord-tenant issue. At 6:52 p.m. a caller asked police to check on three trespassers wearing black ski masks who were apparently trying to get into buildings at the old observatory on Pinnacle Road. Police escorted them off the premises. At 7:56 p.m. Boxborough police asked Harvard officers for assistance in dealing with a man who was being aggressive to some juveniles on Paddock Lane; Boxborough police issued a summons to the 40-year-old resident for threatening to commit assault.
Saturday, May 17
At 12:10 p.m. someone on Pond Road complained about music from an event at the library pavilion. At 10:38 p.m. a driver took a turn too fast on Brown Road. The car slid off the road, and police called a tow truck for it.
Sunday, May 18
At 7:33 p.m. a caller reported a masked man at the old observatory on Pinnacle Road, but the trespasser was gone when police arrived. Police say trespassing has increased there since pictures of the buildings were posted on TikTok and Instagram.
Monday, May 19
At 10:57 a.m. a resident came to the police station to report a case of fraud. At 11:41 a.m. there was yet another report of a trespasser at the old observatory on Pinnacle Road; the person was gone when police arrived. At 2:18 p.m. a caller reported two cars parked on Old Mill Road, but police found the cars were legally parked and not creating any problem.
