In the past week, police made 10 motor vehicle stops, three resulting in verbal warnings and seven in written warnings or citations. Officers also checked on a disabled motor vehicle, issued or renewed one firearm license, made three well-being checks, and responded to one false burglar alarm.
Tuesday, Jan. 14
At 12:22 a.m. a woman at an Old Littleton Road address called 911 to say she was waiting for a ride from a person who had not shown up. At 11:43 a.m. a Stow Road resident reported a stolen package.
Wednesday, Jan. 15
At 10:45 a.m. someone came to the police station to report signs of suspicious activity at a cabin near the end of Turner Lane; lights were on and a door was open. At 11:06 a.m. an officer saw an open door at a Lovers Lane residence, checked the building, and found nothing amiss. At 1:51 p.m. police responded to a juvenile problem at school. At 2:55 p.m. a Deerfoot Trail resident asked police to check on a neighbor’s house where a generator was running even though power was not out in the area; police were unable to contact the generator’s owner. At 5:02 p.m. a caller reported a car had hit a deer on Ayer Road.
Thursday, Jan. 16
At 6:12 a.m. a 911 caller expressed suspicion about a car parked on West Bare Hill Road; an officer found two people were talking in the car. At 1:56 p.m. an officer asked a tree crew to move equipment that was in the roadway near the intersection of Stow and Eldridge roads.
Friday, Jan. 17
At 12:35 a.m. police alerted the Department of Public Works and the state Department of Transportation that roads in town were becoming hazardous. At 9:20 a.m. someone on Ayer Road reported the theft of a package. At 10:23 a.m. a walker called with concerns about a dog on Fairbank Street; the animal control officer was informed. At 12:08 p.m. police were again called to the school about a juvenile issue. At 3:09 p.m. a caller complained about a truck with a paving roller driving on Woodside Road.
Saturday, Jan. 18
At 11:55 p.m. police notified the DPW about hazardous road conditions townwide.
Sunday, Jan. 19
At 10:01 p.m. there was a one-car crash near the intersection of Oak Hill and Cleaves Hill roads; no one was injured, but the car was towed. Just a minute later, at 10:02 p.m. a 911 caller reported a rollover crash near the intersection of Pinnacle Road and Park Lane. At 10:22 p.m. there was another single-car crash on Stow Road. In the latter two incidents, the Ambulance Service was called, but no one required transportation to a hospital.
Monday, Jan. 20
At 10:27 a.m. a car hit a utility pole on Littleton County Road; the vehicle required a tow.
