Between June 25 and June 30 the Ambulance Service responded to five calls and transported three people to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support services on board. (The Ayer Fire Department took five of the people from the Poor Farm Road crash to the hospital.) The ambulance was called to three vehicle crashes. No one needed a lift assist.
Tuesday, June 25
At 1:05 a.m. a smoke alarm went off at a Mill Road home; the duty officer responded but found no reason for the alarm’s activation. At 8:13 p.m. a 911 caller reported the smell of smoke at an Ayer Road residence. Engine 2, the tower truck, and the tanker all responded. However, firefighters found no sign of smoke or fire, either with their gas meter or with thermal imaging.
Wednesday, June 26
At 10:58 a.m. the Fire Department helped the Department of Public Works replace the traffic light in town center. At 10:17 p.m. Engine 2 and the ambulance were called to the crash on Interstate 495, but they were canceled en route.
Friday, June 28
At 8:31 p.m. Engine 2 went to the scene of the motorcycle collision on Ayer Road and helped with traffic control.
