The Ambulance Service responded to nine calls and transported four patients to the hospital, three with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance was called to three vehicle crashes. No one needed a lift assist.
Thursday, May 30
Shortly after midnight, 16 Harvard firefighters as well as the District 8 dive team, which is drawn from many towns, helped search for the missing swimmer in Bare Hill Pond. From Harvard, the crews included those of Engine 2, the tower truck, the fire boat, and the drone team. At 12:36 p.m. the duty officer investigated a smoke alarm that went off in a Bolton Road home; no cause for the alarm was found. At 8:11 p.m. Engines 2 and 4 went to Still River Road, where a car had struck a utility pole. Engine 2 stood by until National Grid arrived.
Friday, May 31
At 1:31 p.m. Engine 2 was called to a collision on Interstate 495 southbound; the crew helped with cleanup and traffic control. At 8:20 p.m. someone called for help after accidentally locking themselves out of the house. Engine 2 came and used its ladder to gain entry through an open window on the second floor.
Saturday, June 1
At 2:12 p.m. a fire alarm went off at the Harvard Public Library on Pond Road. Engine 1, Engine 2, and the tower truck responded. The cause turned out to be a yellowjacket inside the smoke detector; the problem was swatted. At 6:01 p.m. the duty officer and Engine 2 were called to an alarm at Fruitlands; no smoke or other cause for the alarm was found.
Monday, June 3
At 12:41 a.m. firefighters went to the motorcycle crash on Mass. Ave., but no report was yet available. At 5:45 p.m. an alarm went off at a house on Prospect Hill Road. The fire chief went to the residence and found the alarm had been set off by smoke from cooking.
