In the past week, police made 12 motor vehicle stops, three resulting in verbal warnings and nine in written warnings or citations. Officers also checked on a disabled motor vehicle, made a well-being check, and responded to five false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, May 21
At 7:39 p.m. a Candleberry Lane resident called police to say a dog in the area had been barking all day. Police searched the area but found nothing amiss.
Wednesday, May 22
At 6:15 a.m. the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said someone on its staff would be in the Shaker Road area on geese patrol. At 6:50 a.m. a 911 caller told police a tractor-trailer was partly blocking Ayer Road, but the truck was gone when police arrived. At 7:57 p.m. a West Bare Hill Road resident reported a case of identity theft, after being notified of a problem by their credit card company.

Friday, May 24
At 2:26 a.m. an Ayer Road resident called to say a man was threatening to harm himself or her; she asked police to remove him; the man had previously called an ambulance to take the woman to a hospital, but she had refused. At 10 a.m. an Old Littleton Road resident reported their chocolate Lab missing; the animal was found in Littleton and returned to the owner. At 3:21 p.m. an officer served a restraining order at an Under Pin Hill Road address. At 7:36 p.m. a West Bare Hill Road resident called to say her two dogs had been attacked by a service dog, and she wanted to speak with the animal control officer. At 10:07 p.m. a 911 caller complained someone was driving aggressively and brake checking on Mass. Ave.
Saturday, May 25
At 1:22 p.m. someone reported his daughter’s cell phone had been stolen on Pond Road. At 1:41 p.m. a Warren Avenue parent called 911 to say a child was missing. Police, fire, and ambulance crews all responded, including search dogs and the drone team. The child was quickly found and returned to his home. At 5:42 p.m. a resident complained about a dirt bike causing a disturbance on Mettacomet Path. At 9:08 p.m. a caller told police two horses were loose on West Bare Hill Road, had damaged the caller’s property, and had injured a worker there. Police notified the animal control officer.
Sunday, May 26
At 10:30 a.m. the owner of the horses called about the previous night’s complaint, and the animal control officer was again notified. At 2:22 p.m. a 911 caller reported an attempted suicide; the person was taken to the hospital. At 7:48 p.m. a West Bare Hill Road resident called to say an Amazon driver had spooked a horse, which fell on the girl who was riding it.
