The Harvard Cultural Council, a volunteer committee that is part of a network of 329 local councils across Massachusetts funded by the Mass Cultural Council, has announced its fiscal 2024 grant awards. The grants support cultural programming undertaken by individuals and organizations in Harvard and neighboring communities.
This year, said council Co-chair Marijke Vallaeys, HCC received 28 applications, up from 26 in 2023 and 23 applications in 2022. She said the council prefers to fund cultural events that Harvard residents are involved with or will attend. The council selects grant recipients based on community feedback from periodic surveys, and according to Mass Cultural Council guidelines, Vallaeys said.
