The Ambulance Service responded to six calls and transported three patients to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance was not called to any vehicle crashes. One person needed a lift assist.
Friday, May 17
At 9:14 p.m. an alarm sounded at a business on Ayer Road. The duty officer went to the building, but the alarm had stopped. The duty officer told the owner to call the alarm company. At 9:54 p.m. two firefighters went to Hildreth Elementary School to stand by for safety at Celebration.
Saturday, May 18
At 1:37 p.m. a 911 call brought Engine 2 and the forestry truck to a house on Bowers Road, where firefighters found an oil heating technician already on the scene. The owner of the house had returned after an absence and found the home-heating oil tank leaking in the basement. Firefighters estimated that between 100 and 120 gallons of heating oil had leaked into the basement. The forestry truck brought the special operations trailer, which includes equipment for spill containment and for dealing with hazardous materials. Firefighters contained the spill as best they could and notified the state Department of Environmental Protection.
Sunday, May 19
At 11:33 a.m. an alarm sounded at the same Ayer Road business as on Friday. The duty officer diagnosed a battery problem and again told the owner to call the alarm company.
