Dancing at the library
On Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m. the Warner Free Lecture Trustees will present “Dudley Laufman Celebrating Old-Time New England Country Dance” at Volunteers Hall at the public library. Learn about the music, the dances, and the people who have carried on the tradition of old-time New England country dance, listen to the button accordion, and get up and dance. Climate stories
On Saturday, April 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Fivesparks, 7 Fairbank Street, Climate Stories Project director and musician Jason Davis will present original music featuring the recorded voices of people from around the world speaking about their responses to climate change. Mushroom preparations
Old Frog Pond Farm & Studio will present Mushroom Preparations: Part Two, on Sunday, April 14, at 1 p.m. at the farm at 38 Eldridge Road. Discover the world of mushrooms, and learn how to turn mushrooms into remedies and incorporate them into a wellness routine. Frances Perkins portrayed
On Tuesday, April 16, at 1 p.m. at the Harvard Senior Center, 16 Lancaster County Road, Janet Parnes will portray Frances Perkins, one of America’s most influential women of the first half of the 20th century. The country’s first female cabinet secretary, Frances fought to enact legislation now taken for granted: the fire-safety code, minimum wage, and Social Security.
The senior center will host part two (Miss Perkins’ years in Washington) May 7. Admission is free. Seating is limited. Registration is encouraged: Call 978-456-4120.
African drumming class
Old Frog Pond Farm & Studio will hold an eight-week African drumming class on Thursdays, April 18 through June 6, 6-7:30 p.m. at the farm at 38 Eldridge Road. Fiddler at Fivesparks

Sacred fire
Old Frog Pond Farm & Studio will hold a community fire on Friday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the farm at 38 Eldridge Road. This is a monthly community fire facilitated by Chris Griffin, a firekeeper trained through Sacred Fire. Advance registration is required by email at harvardfires@sacredfire.org.
Maintaining healthy boundaries
The grief counselor with the Nashoba Associated Boards of Health will offer a program “Maintaining Healthy Boundaries” Friday, April 19, at 1 p.m., at the Harvard Senior Center, 16 Lancaster County Road.
‘The Sudbury Fight’ at Fort Devens Museum
The Fort Devens Museum, 94 Jackson Road, will host local historian and former National Park Service ranger Mark Nichipor Saturday, April 20, at 1 p.m. Nichipor will present a program on the largest fight and last major Native American victory in King Philip’s War before their final defeat in southern New England in August 1676. All but forgotten today, the sites and stories of this battle are still there to be found by the curious who look for them.

Henley Regatta
The Harvard Henley Regatta, modeled on the U.K.’s Henley Royal Regatta and hosted by the Bromfield Acton-Boxborough rowing team, will be held Saturday, April 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the town beach. Crews from Brookline, Wayland Weston, and Duxbury Bay Maritime will race one another and BA-B in round-robin format on a 1,000-meter course. Trophies will be awarded for fastest varsity boys and girls 8s and for overall points. Admission is $5 per individual and $10 for families.
Confronting the climate crisis
The Climate Initiative Committee will present “Confronting the Climate Crisis: Science, Solutions, and Hope for a Sustainable Future” Tuesday, April 23, at 7 p.m at Volunteers Hall. Speaker Jane Flegal has held roles such as senior director for industrial emissions at the White House Office of Domestic Climate Policy and has directed climate and environment programs at prominent foundations. She will share strategies on where we are, what works, and how Harvard can lead. There will be time for questions and discussion.

Comedy for a cause
Pinard Landscaping and Clear Path for Veterans will host Devens Comedy Night Friday, April 12, at the Hilton Common Center, Devens. Harvard artist presents ‘All Is Imagination’
“Tout est Imagination,” the art of Harvard resident and artist Brigitte Livet de Sautels, will be on display through May 30 at the Bradford Mill/ArtScape gallery, 43 Bradford Street, second floor, West Concord. Patriots’ Day at Minute Man National Historical Park

- Parker’s Revenge tactical demonstration, Saturday, April 13, 1-2 p.m. This is the signature living history event at the park, featuring hundreds of volunteer reenactors. Throughout the day learn about the events of April 19, 1775, from many points of view. Enjoy a full schedule of living history programs and demonstrations, including a tactical demonstration along a restored stretch of the original Battle Road. Talk with volunteers portraying colonial civilians, British soldiers, and Loyalists.
- North Bridge fight commemoration, Monday, April 15, 8:30 a.m., at North Bridge, Concord.
- Battle Road anniversary hike, Monday, April 15, 12:30-5:30 p.m. Join rangers for an immersive 4-mile guided Battle Road trail hike to Fiske Hill.
- Patriot vigil, Thursday, April 18, ceremony 7:45-8:30 p.m., luminaria 7:30-9 p.m., at North Bridge, Concord. The evening ceremony will feature a lantern-light procession, poetry, music, and a recitation of the names of the soldiers who gave their lives.

Nashoba Valley Chorale
The Nashoba Valley Chorale will perform their program “Far Past War” on Sunday, April 21, at 3 p.m. at Groton Hill Music Center. The program, with works by Hailstork, Vaughan-Williams, and the New England premiere of Far Past War by Read-Thomas, showcases the 100-member chorale under Ann Watson Born along with members of the Vista Philharmonic Orchestra and guest soloists baritone Christópheren Nomura and soprano Brianna J. Robinson.
