The League of Women voters announced Monday evening that Tuesday night’s candidate debate between Bill Barton and Brad Bessie, the two candidates for town moderator, has been cancelled due to an emergency in the family of one of the candidates. It will not be rescheduled.
However, the information and Q&A session about the proposed Proposition 2½ overrides on this year’s Town Election ballot will continue as planned. The session begins Tuesday night, March 26, at 7:15 p.m. Residents may attend either in person at Upper Town Hall or by Zoom. Members of the Select Board, Finance Committee, and School Committee will explain the override, including the impact on residents if the override does not pass. The event is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Harvard and the Harvard Press. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions in person or via Zoom.
