Steward Health Care’s financial challenges have grown so acute that the company has reportedly said it wants to sell or close the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, as well as three other hospitals in Massachusetts. As of Jan. 29, no decision has been made and state officials are scrambling to find a means to keep the facility open.
