Between Nov. 20 and Nov. 27, the Ambulance Service responded to seven calls and transported three patients to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance responded to one motor vehicle collision; there were no requests for a lift assist.
Wednesday, Nov. 22
At 1:37 p.m. a fire alarm sounded at a Still River Road building; firefighters found it had been set off accidentally by cooking. Smoke from cooking was also the cause of a fire alarm at 6:33 p.m. at a home on Old Meadow Lane.
Thursday, Nov. 23
At 11:35 a.m. a dirty smoke detector set off an alarm at the public library on Pond Road. At 2:58 p.m. firefighters were called to a car fire on Interstate 495 southbound, but the call was canceled because the car was just overheated, not on fire.
Friday, Nov. 24
At 2:14 p.m. a carbon monoxide detector went off at a Blanchard Road home; the cause was a faulty detector. At 3:52 p.m. another carbon monoxide detector went off at a home on West Bare Hill Road. The residents opened the doors and windows, so no gas was detected; but firefighters concluded the gas cooktop may have set off the alarm, and they advised having the unit serviced.
Monday, Nov. 27
At 4:22 p.m. the duty officer responded to an alarm at a Warren Avenue house; it was another case of a faulty detector.
