The Harvard Ambulance responded to six calls and transported four patients to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support services on board. There were no motor vehicle collisions and no requests for a lift assist.
Wednesday, Dec. 6
At 8:33 a.m. a passerby reported an illegal burn at an Ayer Road residence; the duty officer told the resident about the regulations and ordered the fire put out.
Friday, Dec. 8
At 11:48 a.m. a defective carbon monoxide detector went off at an Ayer Road building; the duty officer said the detector should be replaced.
Saturday, Dec. 9
At 10:12 p.m. a 911 call took firefighters to Clinton Shore Drive, where a shed was on fire. Engines 1, 2, 3, the tanker, and the tower truck responded, as did the ambulance. The shed was attached to a house, and the exterior of the house was damaged. But firefighters doused the blaze before the house itself caught fire. Boxborough firefighters also helped at the scene, while crews from Bolton and Ayer provided coverage at the station. Crews were on duty at the scene until about 2 a.m. Sunday. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Sunday, Dec. 10
At 1:39 a.m. an alarm came in from the Congregational Church because of a problem with the sprinkler system. At 10:34 a.m. a caller reported a possible illegal burn on Old Shirley Road; the homeowner was using a firepit and was advised of the open burning regulations. At 1:29 p.m. an alarm went off at another address on Clinton Shore Drive; the duty officer found no one home and no sign of fire. At 3:19 p.m. Engine 2 was called to a building on Mass. Ave. where an oil tank was leaking; the crew kept the spill contained until the oil company arrived.
Monday, Dec. 11
At 12:44 a.m. the duty officer responded twice to alarms from an Old Shirley Road home; the homeowner was advised to replace the malfunctioning alarm. At 5:18 p.m. an alarm went off at a building on Still River Road; the cause was burned food.
