The Harvard Christmas Pageant took place Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Harvard Unitarian Church, followed by the cocoa and cookie party at the Congregational Church of Harvard. We were unable to have the tree lighting due to the rain, but we can hope for next year.
This event has been a community event since 1961, except for two years deferred due to COVID-19 (2020 and 2021). This year, once again, we were so pleased to have so many children, teens, and parents come together to make it happen, for the enjoyment of all.
We want to thank the parents, the community members at large who are always willing to lend support and a hand, and several Bromfield students, as well as former Bromfield students, now in college, who volunteered in critical ways; we thank them all. And because so many Bromfield students miss singing in the choir, they returned from college to be able to sing. This says something about what it means to generations of our community.
We formally thank the Unitarian Universalist Church of Harvard, the Congregational Church, and Holy Trinity Parish for hosting rehearsals and for their ongoing support.
We are in great need of members of our community to come forward to make sure this special event continues, which is in essence a community event for everyone. There will be a meeting in January to bring folks together who want to ensure its continuance. It will be announced in the newspaper.
Thank you once again to everyone. We wish peace to all in this holiday season.
