In the past week police made nine motor vehicle stops; three resulted in verbal warnings, five in written warnings, and one in a civil citation, which carries a fine. Officers also made two well-being checks, helped one person locked out of a car, dealt with one report of a disabled vehicle, and responded to two false burglar alarms.
The Ambulance Service responded to five calls and transported four patients to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance was called to a one-car crash. No one needed a lift assist.

Wednesday, Oct. 25
At 9:07 a.m. police received a report of a dead animal on the road near the intersection of West Bare Hill and Bolton roads. At 2:03 p.m. someone turned in an American Express credit card found on the trail at Holy Hill, and police notified its owner. At 3:05 p.m., near the intersection of Still River and Under Pin Hill roads, a 39-year-old driver from Miami, Florida, received a summons for driving an uninsured vehicle with a suspended registration; the car was towed. At 6:25 p.m. a Mill Road resident called 911 after seeing two men walking around his property; when he approached them, they left in a truck and were gone when police arrived. At 8:42 p.m. a caller reported a man wearing no trousers, who was standing beside a van in the center of town; he, too, was gone when an officer arrived.
Thursday, Oct. 26
At 7:45 a.m. a caller reported a low-hanging wire above Brown Road—too low for a truck to pass safely; Verizon and Charter were notified. At 9:46 a.m. someone turned in a driver’s license found along Prospect Hill Road.
Friday, Oct. 27
At 9:56 a.m. a drone pilot notified police that the drone would be flying over an area to take photos for a real estate company. At 3:57 p.m. a Glenview Drive resident reported hearing two gunshots nearby; police noted it is hunting season. At 5:23 p.m. a caller complained of a speeding Jeep near the intersection of Pinnacle and Old Littleton roads; police say it is an ongoing issue with one driver.
Saturday, Oct. 28
At 8:10 a.m. the drone pilot told police he would again be working in the area. At 12:50 p.m. a caller reported downed phone lines on Glenview Drive.
Sunday, Oct. 29
At 12:46 a.m. a Woodside Road resident reported hearing a burst of fireworks explosions near Bare Hill Pond; police checked the area, but the amateur pyrotechnicians had departed.
Monday, Oct. 30
At 5:24 a.m. state police dealt with a car crash on Route 2 eastbound. At 9:16 a.m. a caller reported a car in the middle of a parking lot at a medical office on Ayer Road; apparently the driver had not set the parking brake, and her car had rolled out of its place. At 10:02 a.m. a landscaping business on Ayer Road reported a tractor-trailer truck had struck the business’s sign and driven off; police called the truck owner, who did not realize he had hit the sign, and he agreed to make amends. At 4:06 p.m. Ayer police asked a Harvard officer to provide backup at a verbal argument, and the argument was resolved peacefully. At 5:55 p.m. a resident asked police to intervene in a marital disagreement, but an officer advised the person to take a civil action. At 7:17 p.m. the same Mill Road resident who had called earlier in the week said a truck had again pulled onto his property but soon left; police searched the area but did not find the truck.
