In the past week police made four motor vehicle stops, all resulting in verbal warnings. They dealt with three disabled motor vehicles and helped one driver who was locked out of a car.
The Ambulance Service responded to five calls and transported four patients to the hospital, three with Advanced Life Support services on board. There were three car crashes, but no lift assists.
Tuesday, Oct. 3
At 6:36 a.m. a 911 caller reported a car crash on Interstate 495 northbound, where the state police have jurisdiction. At 10:09 a.m. an Oak Hill Road resident called, complaining about the previous weekend’s traffic on that road.
Wednesday, Oct. 4
At 10:03 a.m. an officer took a report about sex offenses. At 5:50 p.m. a Brown Road resident reported hunting on nearby conservation land; an officer found the hunter had a permit for the area. At 6:56 p.m. a caller reported the theft of some lumber from a construction site on Stow Road.
Thursday, Oct. 5
At 5:17 a.m. there was a car crash on Route 2 eastbound; no one was injured, and state police had jurisdiction. At 3:53 p.m. a Codman Hill Road resident called to report a missing dog, but the dog returned and the call was canceled. At 6:36 p.m. Ayer police requested assistance at the scene of a car crash. At 11:43 p.m. an officer on Littleton Road saw a car with its doors open; finding nothing else amiss, the officer closed the doors.
Friday, Oct. 6
At 10:22 a.m. a Jacob Gates Road resident asked to speak with an officer about phone calls that the resident suspected were part of a fraud scheme. At 3:09 p.m. there was a car crash on Route 2 westbound; no one was injured, and state police dealt with the matter. At 6:24 p.m. a 911 caller reported another accident on Route 2 westbound, this time involving injuries; again state police had jurisdiction.
Saturday, Oct. 7
At 8:38 a.m. a Warren Avenue resident reported a scam. At 12:13 p.m. someone on Depot Road called to report a damaged mailbox. At 2:04 p.m. a caller reported suspicions about a white Honda driving around an Ayer Road building and then parking; the driver was an employee at the building.
Sunday, Oct. 8
At 3:57 p.m. a Woodside Road resident called with a complaint about noise and loud music from somewhere in the neighborhood; an officer located the source and asked people there to turn down their music. At 11:18 p.m. Maynard police asked for help locating a suspect. The Harvard officers checked a local house belonging to the man’s relatives, but the suspect was not there.
Monday, Oct. 9
At 12:15 p.m. someone flagged down an officer near Willard Lane to report a fallen street sign there. At 2:16 p.m. a caller reported sex offenses that had taken place in another town; the caller was referred to police in that town.
