This summer and fall’s relentless rains have forced the Harvard Schools Trust and the League of Women Voters to cancel this year’s Flea Market, a loss for two important town organizations as well as the thousands of attendees and 180 vendors and exhibitors who look forward to enjoying this annual event.
The fields were already saturated by heavy rains throughout the past several weeks, and with additional rain forecast for Saturday, they will not be dry enough to sustain vehicle traffic by the proposed rain date of Sunday.
The Harvard Schools Trust is a membership organization independent of all municipal and school boards and teacher organizations. It works in harmony with the schools to enable them to reach their educational goals. The HST aims to broaden community awareness, involvement, and confidence in our students and our schools.
The League of Women Voters is a grassroots, nonprofit membership organization that believes the freedom to vote is a nonpartisan issue. For more than a century the LWV has worked to empower voters and defend democracy.
The Flea Market is the largest fundraiser for both the Harvard Schools Trust and the League of Women Voters.
